Tollgates, Battle, West Sussex, by Trinity Homes

Our first stop is in the far south-east near the site of the Battle of Hastings, where Trinity Homes have built 63 homes at Tollgates.

New Business Manger Chloe Cory said: “To win site recognition for the South East region is testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole team both on site and in the office. Ramesh Swain, our site manager, deserves a special mention for his involvement in the site from day one. We all work so hard to build exceptional homes that are exactly to the client’s desires.

“The past 18 months have been challenging for everyone in the industry. This award has proved to us we can achieve anything no matter the circumstances. We are so proud of everyone involved in this development and we can’t wait to see the final outcome.

“This award means that our customers have the confirmation from LABC Warranty that Trinity Homes not only produce quality homes, but that our methods of construction from groundworks to completion are carried out to the highest level of care and attention to detail.”

Skylark Meadow

Skylark Meadow, Broad Blunsdon, by Newland Homes

West along the M4, Broad Blunsdon is a village close to Swindon and the beautiful Cotswolds. Residents at the 37-home Skylark Meadows have the best of two worlds, and knowledge that their home has been built to high quality standards.

“We’re really proud to win the LABC Site Recognition Award for the consistent quality of workmanship at Skylark Meadow,” said Tom Wilson, Assistant Site Manager. “We take pride in the quality homes we build, and to receive recognition for this is incredible.

“It means a great deal to me as this is the first award I have won whilst working for Newland Homes. It’s also great for morale on site and shows how good Ollie our Site Manager, and I work together, as we have accomplished a lot whilst only working together for such a short amount of time.

“It’s also good for the subcontractors, as it shows that their workmanship is recognised and appreciated.

“I think a lot of credit goes to everyone working on site. It's been an incredibly difficult time for everyone, but we're still delivering a great product which we are proud to put our name on.”

The Green, Exeter, by Heritage Developments

Now we’re heading south west down the M5 towards the glorious county of Devon. On the outskirts of Exeter, a few miles from the River Exe, we arrive at Heritage Development’s The Green and 71 homes with A-rated energy efficiency.

Guy Olliver, Heritage’s Commercial and Technical Manager, said: “We constantly strive to produce the best product we can so winning an award like this gives us encouragement that our efforts are being independently validated. It is extremely satisfying knowing that the entire team’s hard work has been rewarded.

“We hope that winning awards such as this provides our potential customers with confidence to buy and our existing customers the satisfaction of knowing they are part of an award winning development!”

Solus The Gate (s)

The Gate at Waterside Village, Loughborough, by Solus Homes

Time to head north, past Birmingham and into Leicestershire and the market town of Loughborough. At the side of the Grand Union Canal we find The Gate, a modern, 64-apartment development that takes its design cues from the local industrial heritage. But this is no old mill building. On site there’s a work place, gym and pool too.

Developer Solus Homes won our Site Recognition Award for this impressive six-storey project.

Mark Horsnall, Project Manager-Director, spoke on behalf of Jack and Tom Horsnall (Assistant Projects Managers). He said: “As a family run business, we always strive to be proud of every project we deliver, so winning an award like this recognises all the hard work we put in as a family team. From a commercial point of view, it demonstrates to our lenders, suppliers and sub-contractors that we are the sort of company they will want to support and work for.

“Individual recognition is always great for everyone looking to progress their careers and for the hard work we all put in to deliver a project of this size.

“It reassures our customers of the high quality and workmanship we’ve brought to this project. They know that when they buy a property from us, it’s always built to the highest quality.”

City Road, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent, by Seddon

Back on the road again, we’re travelling north to the Potteries and Stoke-on-Trent, where Seddon is building 135 much-needed homes, including 65 homes as part of a sheltered housing scheme. The façade of the former Workshop for the Blind is being retained as part of the scheme to acknowledge its historical importance to the local area.

“We’re delighted to have been awarded The Bricks Recognition Award for Local Centre for our work at City Road,” said Stuart Fanshaw, Business Unit Director at Seddon.

“It’s a great achievement for our site team and our supply chain who work so hard to ensure that we adopt the best construction practices and workmanship on every project we deliver.

“The team at City Place always go the extra mile to deliver quality for our customers and this award affirms that. We’re extremely proud of them and this award.”

Now we’re driving north up the M6, over the Shap Fells and down into the Eden Valley for the first of two developments close to the River Eden. Fell View has just four homes, dressed in distinctive local red stone, with views to the Pennines.

Chelsea Wilkinson, JIW Properties’ Sales and Marketing Manager, said: “Winning this award means so much more than just the receipt of a certificate. It has shown us that all our hard work and determination has paid off, given all the staff a boost and has made us all feel proud.

“All our staff are to thank for this award. They are hard-working and loyal which is how we have created such an amazing team who all work really well together. This has shown our staff that their hard work has paid off and it is really appreciated by JIW Properties.

“Receiving an award like this will give our customers confidence they are purchasing a high quality home. It will give a seal of approval to our developments and a sign of quality for potential customers.”

Hall Farm, Langwathby, Cumbria, by Willan Living

Following the course of the River Eden, just a few miles north we arrive at Langwathby on the A686 Penrith-Hexham road, claimed to be one of the most scenic routes in the world.

Near the village green is Willan Living’s 24, three and four bedroom homes at Hall Farm.

Managing Director Jonathan Willan said: “Receiving the Bricks Site Recognition Award is a tremendous accomplishment for a SME family-run business like ourselves. Not only does winning the award identify us as a leading developer underpinning the company’s core values and goals, but it acknowledges the integrity of our whole team.

“Sending thanks to the Site Manager, Gary Fleckney, who has played a huge part in earning the award. Gary strives for excellence in all areas of his role, from build quality to the safety of others.

“Feedback from both existing and potential new clients has been wonderful throughout. It is delightful to see such positive appreciation for our brand and we are thankful to everyone who has joined us in celebrating the achievement so far.”
