Paul Vasey crowned LABC Warranty Site Manager of the Year 2023

Paul, who was recently promoted to Construction Manager at Allison Homes, has been recognised for his excellent work on the Harriers Rest site in Wittering, Cambridgeshire.

LABC Warranty’s National Site Manager of the Year award celebrates the skill, commitment, and perseverance it takes to consistently deliver quality in construction. The national winner is drawn from a panel of regional winners, who have each shown these attributes in their area.

“I’m absolutely thrilled, it was completely unexpected and I’m extremely proud of both myself and the team,” said Paul. “It’s to know the hard work, and long days and weekends, were worth it. The award is huge, as it’s such a major award in the industry, it highlights the trajectory that Allison Homes is on.”

Describing what he believes made the Harriers Rest site stand out, Paul said, “It was creating a real sense of team ethic and togetherness. Everyone was on the same page and wanted the best outcome for the finished product.”

Asked about how important the national prize is, Paul said, “The award is definitely important as I always wanted to achieve this prior to the step-up to Construction Manager. It was nice to finish on a high closing my chapter in site management and beginning a new one as Construction Manager.”

Site managers are assessed by LABC Warranty’s Risk Management Surveyors on a variety of aspects of site management. This includes the safety of their site, its tidiness, the quality of work being carried out, how suppliers uphold quality, and how well the site communicates with their warranty provider. These surveyors then nominate site managers for the Regional and National Site Manager of the Year Award.

“Paul’s win is down to the hard work and commitment that he has shown over the years I have inspected Harriers Rest,” said LABC Warranty Risk Management Surveyor Steve Pettigrew. “The quality and cleanliness of the site is one of the best I have seen from a fast-moving site like this one.”

LABC Warranty works in partnership with Local Authority Building Control (LABC), providing structural warranties and building control for new-build and newly-converted buildings across England and Wales through a combined network of more than 3,500 surveyors.
