Site Manager of the Year 2024 announced

Louis Brooker, Site Manager for Vistry Partnerships, has been announced as the National Site Manager of the Year by LABC Warranty.

Louis Brooker wins Site Manager of the Year 2024

As the manager of the Station Island/Stanton Cross development in Wellingborough, Nottinghamshire, Louis has earned this award through nomination by LABC Warranty’s team of Risk Management Surveyors.

Louis’ site earned plaudits for its quality of workmanship, the organisation and tidiness of the site, and the quality of site management on display at the Stanton Island site.

"Louis takes great pride in his job, working hard to set and maintain high standards on the Station Island/Stanton Cross site," said Antony Buckle, Risk Management Surveyor at LABC Warranty. "He works hard to deliver and accepts nothing but the best from the tradesmen and his fantastic team on site.

“Louis is proactive about getting things right and absorbs information and feedback easily and collaboratively to strive for the best.

"This application and dedication have led Louis to win three awards in the past year - our National Site Manager Award, and two Site Recognition Awards."

As one of the few awards in construction which cannot be self-nominated, an LABC Warranty Site Manager of the Year Award is among the most prestigious and rare awards in the building trade.

“I’m over the moon! It took me by surprise to be honest, but it’s an amazing feeling to have your name called out, particularly for the big one,” said Louis Brooker. “We’ve all put a lot of work into maintaining the highest standards possible at Stanton Cross and it’s great to be rewarded for it.

“We enjoyed full buy-in from the whole team from the off. Our directors, site team, commercial team, subcontractors, suppliers and everyone bought into our vision of high quality delivered safely at Stanton Cross. “

Station Island/Stanton Cross is a mixed-tenure development that is currently delivering 128 new homes to the Wellingborough area, as part of a plan to deliver more than 200 in total.

The site is a mix of apartments, semi-detached and detached homes that will be offered as social housing, private rent, and affordable homes.

How the award is judged

LABC Warranty is a structural warranty provider, offering insurance on new-build homes. To earn an insurance certificate, sites are subjected to a battery of inspections at key stages to find faults in construction that could lead to serious defects.

Risk Management Surveyors rate sites, and nominate high-performing sites for awards. One of the awards given by LABC Warranty is the Site Manager of the Year.

Nominated sites are then judged by a panel of LABC Warranty’s technical experts and the regional Site Manager of the Year winners are announced for every area of England and Wales.
