1-10 Units North

Keekle Meadows – High Grange Developments

Keekle, Cumbria

Keekle Meadows is a mixed-style housing development on the outskirts of Keekle, Cumbria, sat alongside the Keekle River just outside the Lake District National Park.

This development earned particularly high praise from the visiting surveyors, who heaped praise on the quality of workmanship and site management in equal amounts.

Particularly focus went to the facilities for inclement weather working, using scaffolding, heating, and tarpaulin covers to let trades carry on work in all conditions.

To quote surveyor Donn Archer, “The site and site management goes from strength to strength.”

 

1-10 Units South

The Meadows – Doswell Projects Ltd

Southampton, Hampshire

The Meadows enjoys an enviable location, situated in the leafy village of Sarisbury on the mouth of the river Hamble, just outside of the city of Southampton.

This development earmarked quickly by their surveyor as an award-winning site. Their report focused on the knowledgeable and passionate site manager, taking quality and health and safety seriously.

They were also commended for maintaining a clean, tidy, safe, and happy working environment throughout the development of The Meadows.

 

11-50 Units

The Havens – Croudace Homes Limited

Tenterden, Kent

A secluded development of contemporary homes, boasting and abundance of space and a host of biodiversity efforts for local wildlife.

While surveying the site, LABC Warranty took particular note of the site manager’s dedication quality of homes and the welfare of their staff and trades. They noted that Croudance team happily went above the minimum requirements for compliance.

This site was also the first time our surveyor had seen a heat recovery system in place for the showers, well ahead of the 2025 requirement for installation.

 

51-100 Units North

Hudson Meadows – Bloor Homes Limited

Congleton, Cheshire

An attractive collection of four and five-bedroom homes, featuring open plan floors, modern appliances, and a significant investment in the local community.

Our surveyors were keen to point out that the development makes good use of energy-efficient technology, on top of a generally high quality approach to site management and quality.

 

51-100 Units South

Hunsbury Grange – Shelbourne Estates

Upton, Northampton

High quality homes in the Upton area of Northampton, just a stone’s throw from the ever-popular Upton Country Park.

LABC Warranty’s surveyor was impressed by the site manger’s eagerness to showcase the quality of workmanship displayed on the site, as well as the level of care shown for site management.

On top of lauding the communication between the site team and LABC Warranty, our surveyor highlighted the ground works of being especially high quality.

 

100+ Units North

Houghton Grange – Shelbourne Estates

Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire

Thoughtfully designed 2-5 bedroom homes, Houghton Grange is part of a blossoming community in the exceptional location on the outskirts of Cambridge.

LABC Warranty’s surveyor made particular note of the excellent standard of the walkways on the site, the protection of stone, and the quality of scaffolding they saw.

In addition, our surveyors were impressed by the quality of workmanship on superstructure, noting diligent efforts on walls, including cavity ties.

Our surveyor also noted that all the site’s plots were all completed to high standards, with well-presented external finishing.

 

100+ Units South

North Prospect Phase 4 – Vistry Partnerships Ltd

North Prospect, Plymouth

This development is part of a much wider regeneration of the North Prospect neighborhood of Plymouth. The new homes are delivered alongside a raft of other community improvements transforming the area and building community.

Our surveyors drew attention to the professionalism on show, in particularly for quality of site management.

While quality of workmanship was excellent at pre-plaster stage, and areas like health and safety and access were highlighted as examples of best practice.

 

Social Housing Award North

Sowerby Gateway – EQUANS Regeneration Limited

Thirsk, North Yorkshire

Sowerby Gateway is delivering more than 100 new affordable homes to the community of Thirsk, North Yorkshire, with the first families taking residence in January of 2023.

LABC Warranty took note of the high quality of the external finishing on this site, with the Bricks Award report taking care to mention how impressed they were with plots approaching completion.

The quality of site management was lauded, with specific attention drawn to the effectiveness of on-site processes and site well set-out presentation of individual plots.

Our reports also took care to mention the installation of heat pumps on the new properties.

 

Social Housing Award South

Clifton Road – Thakeham Partnerships Ltd

Newhaven, East Sussex

This £12m development includes a range of affordable one, two and three-bedroom apartments in Newhaven, Sussex.

LABC Warranty described Clifton Road as an “exceptional site” even before all the build stages were approaching completion. They drew particular attention to the quality of workmanship in fire stopping, and the “immaculate” cleanliness and tidiness of the site itself.

 

Major Projects Award

294-300 Harrow Road – Willmott Dixon Construction Ltd / Westminster Housing Developments Limited

City of Westminster, London

300 Harrow Road will offer a mix of affordable homes and new homes for the open market, as well as new landscaping, nurseries, flexible working spaces, and more.

LABC Warranty described the approach to 300 Harrow as “right first time,” crediting Willmott Dixon for showing a leading approach to quality.

Even the choice of contractors was lauded, with the project’s lead brickwork subcontractor showing proactive engagement and dedication to quality.

Willmott Dixon overcame a number of difficult during construction, finding challenging interfaces and problems siting heat recovery equipment, but overcame them to good standards and in support of their budget.

The Bricks Award report on 300 Harrow Road made special effort to commend Willmott Dixon on the quality of the project, expressing a desire to expand on the high quality relationship they enjoyed on this project.

 

Highly commended developments

Every year we see high quality, high performing sites that don’t quite make it to the Bricks. All the same, we want to celebrate these highly-commended sites.

 

Highly commended in Major Projects

Boston Road - Higgins Partnerships

Hanwell, Greater London

Boston Road boasts a thriving and friendly local community for more than 160 new homes blending private sale, affordable, and shared ownership units.

Our surveyor’s reports on the building have been glowing, highlighting the level of skill, professionalism and commitment to quality that the Higgins team demonstrated.

Their engagement and cooperation with the LABC Warranty risk management process was singled out for praise, which ensured potential problems were identified and addressed long before they became a problem on site.

Flagshaw Pastures – Peveril Homes Limited

Kirk Langley, Derbyshire

A development of houses and bungalows just outside Derby boasting contemporary finishing on top of traditional techniques.

Commended by LABC Warranty for their dedication to site tidiness and the high quality finish of their homes.

 

Hugglescote Grange - Morris Homes

Coalville, Leicestershire

A wide selection of architectural styles make up a family-friendly community near the Leicestershire village of Coalville.

This site was commended for its approach to site management, with emphasis given to clean and safe work areas and a responsive site manager.

 

Highly commended in the South

Downing Gardens, Morris Homes

Gamlingay, South Cambridgeshire

A blend of houses and houses that offer a contemporary alternative the 17th and 18th century buildings in the local conservation area.

Reports from LABC Warranty highlighted an overall well-presented site with very good attention to detail in workmanship.

 

Cordelia Gardens - Penwood Developments Limited

Cowes, Isle of Wight

14 new homes in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. LABC Warranty’s surveyor drew attention to the high quality of the homes being built, the passionate engagement of the architect and managing director of the project, and their use of innovation design to include rainwater harvesting, heat pumps, and solar panels.

 

Blanchard Fields - Blanchard Fields Limited

Brighstone, Isle of Wight

A mixture of open market housing and affordable homes on the west side of the Isle of Wight.
LABC Warranty’s surveyors were impressed by the quality of workmanship on display, and noted that the site manager was involved and passionate about maintaining quality, with “perfect” execution of design and details according to LABC Warranty's surveyor.
