As we emerged from the pandemic restrictions our customers began to face new challenges, not least the so-called "pingdemic" and the rising cost and availability of materials.
Yet our brilliant customers always find a way of producing high quality new homes. Our latest tour will take you on a journey from north to south, east to west, as builders and developers celebrate their well-earned Site Recognition Awards.

Crayfern Homes Managing Director Kevin Wawman said: "We truly value any award our business receives and the contribution it makes to underpinning our brand and the quality build we deliver to our customers."
Crayfern Homes bought the Netley site just before the first Covid-19 lockdown, which presented a challenge for the business.
"Having geared up to start a flagship site for the business to then stop and then re-start several months later was an enormous challenge.
"Despite this setback, we are enormously grateful to the Crayfern team and all our associated sub-contractors, trades, and suppliers for working with us to get the job back to programme as quickly as we have and delivering us a product we are all extremely proud of.
In the heart of the village of Overseal, Manor View Gardens is a bespoke development in the National Forest, offering a mix of three, four and five bedroom homes.
Andrew Cartwright, Managing Director at Cartwright Homes, said: “We’re delighted to receive The Bricks Site Recognition Award for our Manor View development. As a close knit, family business, this award is recognition of the passion and commitment of the whole team at Cartwright Homes.
“I’m especially pleased for our team working on the site, as this reward is testament to their hard work, professionalism and expertise."
Durkan may be better known in the south east of England for their high quality apartment and multi-occupancy schemes, so this scheme of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes in a village setting marks a new direction for the business. Happily, the company's high standards have been carried through, as our award attests.
Production Director Robert Thompson said: “We are thoroughly delighted to receive this award on what is our first new homes development.
"As a team we are striving to design and build homes to the highest levels of quality as we develop the Durkan Brand within the new homes sector. This award, which we hope will be the first of many, is a just reward for the hard work and commitment shown by all those associated with the development.”
Mayflower Leat is part of the fourth phase of Plymouth's North Prospect regeneration programme.
Yanni Sechatis, Project Manager for Vistry Partnerships South West, said: "Winning the LABC ‘Bricks Site Recognitions Award’ for our Mayflower Leat development is a real honour for the whole team.
"Getting recognised for the hard work and dedication we put in to make great places for people to live, really helps the team strive towards the highest standards.
"As part of the North Prospect regeneration programme, Mayflower Leat is fast becoming a warm and welcoming community, one that we can all be proud to be a part of.”
New-build bungalows are a rare breed and in high demand. BGD Developments has created nine new single-storey homes in the market town of Ross-on-Wye.
BGD Developments Managing Director Guy Drummond said: "The award is a recognition of lots of hard work in planning the development and executing it. We aim for a high standard and it's nice to be recognised for that.
"This is has been a tricky build due to the amount of earth movement and we are really pleased with the way the houses have come out."
"From a management prospective, the past 18 months have been some of the hardest," said Mark Swanborough, Construction Manager at Foreman Homes. "Like the rest of the industry we have been dealing with Covid 19, sub-contractor resource levels and supplier issues.
"So to receive an award means a lot.
"Being awarded the Bricks award gives our purchasers the knowledge that their house has been constructed to a high standard. For our site team it also makes all their hard work over the past 18 months worthwhile, with recognition of the high standards of commitment and attention to detail. It also recognises their willingness to go the extra mile to deliver our homes to a very high standard."
Peveril Homes are on an awards roll with LABC Warranty. Following a previous Site Recognition Award win for Flagshaw Pastures in February 2021, the developer scored a double with Forest Heights and Fairfields later in the summer.
"Winning an award means that all the hard work and attention to detail is being recognised," said Production Manager Paul Brennan. "It is probably the best form of feedback we could receive and we are proud to share this within the company and our trusted sub-contractors.
"These awards give our purchasers a degree of confidence that they are buying the house of their dreams on a development that has been well managed in terms of build quality."
James Lockwood, Production Director at St Edward, said; "The award for the consistent quality of workmanship and site management at Kensington is a proud moment for the site team as we strive to deliver the best quality product."
As with all our Bricks award-winning developments, construction of Kensington Row was impacted by Covid 19.
"The one thing we are particularly proud of is managing the site during the Covid pandemic," James added. "Changing the way we work and managing to keep the site operational through the period whilst keeping everyone safe has been very challenging."
Darren Keeley, site manager for Persimmon Homes Durham’s Millbeck Grange site, celebrated his Site Recognition Award with a promotion to Contracts Manager at Persimmon Homes Durham.
He said: “I always set the benchmark high and expect good quality work from all the contractors and workers on site.
“The show home sets the standard for the externals, brickwork and finishes, and quite simply, if those standards are not being met consistently across the site that is not good enough.
“We are delighted to have won this award and it shows that setting standards and expecting them to be achieved across the board pays off.”
Richard Cook, Managing Director of Persimmon Homes Durham, said: “Darren’s recognition in these awards is a great tribute to him and to his colleagues in the region.
“He never fails to achieve the exacting standards he sets for his sites. He has the respect of all his colleagues at Persimmon Homes and we were delighted to promote him to Contracts Manager for our region.”

“Winning this award has promoted a real sense of pride for the team in the job they are doing and knowing that their hard work has been recognised," said Esh Construction Site Manager Simon Burns.
"On a personal note, I am very privileged to win this award given the challenges overcome while using modern methods of construction (MMC) and understanding the rules and regulations associated with a relatively new building product.
"This is one of the largest schemes we have delivered to date in partnership with our client, Karbon Homes, and it’s a great achievement for all involved."
